For now 2009 looks a lot like 2008 from a racing perspective. I am clearly not in any respectable shape from a running and riding perspective. My main focus for the next few months as the weather warms is to work on a few main things:
1. Lower body biomechanics and "structural integrity."
2. Slowly incorporate some riding into my routine which has mainly consisted of swimming for the last year.
3. 100% pain free and injury free over the next few months.
If I can stay focused and drop my body weight down another 10 lbs I think that some late summer sprint or olympic distnace races might appear on my schedule. It's a pretty big IF at this point.
I will continue to swim and use strength training to help heal my body. Hopefully I'll be able to get a few good Open Water Swim races in in the next few months. I've been swimming a lot more than normal and would love to get out and do a few of these races.
We will see what 2009 has in store.
